چکیده
Serum transaminases were determined according to the method ofKarmen, Wrobleski, and LaDue (1955) (normal values for our laboratory: SGOT and SGPT up to 15 i.u./ litre), serum salicylate levels with Trinder's reagent, fibrinogen according to the method of Clauss (1957), fibrinogen degradation products (FDP) by the immunodiffusion technique (Ouchterlony), and Factor V according to the method of Borchgrevink, Pool, and Stormorken (1960).

Pathophysiology of trauma-induced coagulopathy: disseminated intravascular coagulation with the fibrinolytic phenotype
In severe trauma patients, coagulopathy is frequently observed in the acute phase of trauma. Trauma-induced coagulopathy is coagulopathy caused by the trauma itself. The pathophysiology of trauma-induced coagulopathy consists of coagulation activation, hyperfibrino(geno)lysis, and consumption coagulopathy. These pathophysiological mechanisms are the characteristics to DIC with the fibrinolytic ...
متن کاملThe response to catechol amine infusion during salicylate-induced hypermetabolism in man.
The increase in oxygen consumption produced in man by salicylate administration is not associated with a rise in pulse rate or an increase in responsiveness to infusions of epinephrine or norepinephrine. It is suggested that the effects of thyroid hormone on the cardiovascular system are more dependent on the concentration of circulating thyroid hormone per se than on the concomitant increase i...
متن کاملMechanisms of trauma-induced coagulopathy.
The identification and management of coagulopathy is a critical component of caring for the severely injured patient. Notions of the mechanisms of coagulopathy in trauma patients have been supplanted by new insights resulting from close examination of the biochemical and cellular changes associated with acute tissue injury and hemorrhagic shock. Acute intrinsic coagulopathy arising in severely ...
متن کاملMassive left ventricular mural thrombosis with consumption coagulopathy in congestive heart failure.
THE SYNDROME OF consumption coagulopathy occurs in association with a wide variety of underlying illnesses. In general, resolution of the coagulopathy accompanies successful treatment of the primary disorder. If the underlying pathological process is not clinically apparent, evidence of consumption coagulopathy may be a clue leading to diagnosis and appropriate therapy. Such conditions may incl...
متن کاملThe effect of salicylate on the metabolism of normal and stimulated human lymphocytes in vitro.
The effect of salicylate on the metabolism of peripheral blood lymphocytes in tissue culture was investigated. Lymphocytes incubated with sodium salicylate at a concentration of 30 mg/100 ml showed increased glucose consumption, lactic acid production, and oxygen consumption, evidence for uncoupling of oxidative phosphorylation. No decrease in cell number or viability (trypan blue dye exclusion...
